Our foundation's vision project Güzel İşler Fabrikası (GİF) met with the youth in Silopi.
Güzel İşler Fabrikası (GİF) was launched by our foundation in 2022 as a youth project that enables young people to discover and develop their academic, social, cultural, and artistic skills. While we have been providing services in Istanbul and Ankara with our educational campuses, we have now made the GİF brand available to the youth of Şırnak Silopi.
At the launch event in Silopi, our Board Chairman Assoc. Dr. Fatmanur Altun explained how the project was designed to meet a specific need, stating that as a result of our field research in Silopi, the youth in the region expressed a need for a support center, particularly to enhance their academic skills. While announcing to the public that we would provide services exclusively for female students, she emphasized that our center is open to all girls from Silopi. She added that these projects, aimed at training educated, qualified female leaders, herald a generation that is sensitive to the current problems of humanity and produces solutions.
The program continued with our painting workshop students presenting a painting of the Al-Aqsa Mosque to our Foundation President and the Silopi students of GİF reciting the poem "I Saw Al-Aqsa in My Dream."
In addition to various names from the regional protocol, civil society, and public representatives, our instructors who teach at Güzel İşler Fabrikası, students participating in these trainings, and their parents also attended the launch. The launch, where students experienced painting, sewing, marbling, and handicraft workshops alongside university preparation programs, concluded with a piano recital by the students.
As TÜRGEV, we hope that the GİF Silopi campus will be a source of hope for the young girls of Silopi, and we express our honor and happiness in providing services to our students at our center.
