Basic Support Accommodation Scholarship for Higher Education

The Basic Support Higher Education Scholarship is a housing scholarship. Before applying for this scholarship, you must first submit a dormitory application. Housing scholarship applications submitted before a dormitory application will not be accepted.

Application Conditions

Higher-education students who are continuing their studies on a full scholarship at a state university or at a foundation university can apply for the Basic Support Scholarship.

Application Documents

Basic Support Scholarship Application Documents

• Residence certificate showing the address where the student’s household resides
• “Detailed Population Registration” document obtained from the relevant population directorate or via e-Government
• If the student has a sibling who is also enrolled, student documents obtained from their schools or via e-Government
• If the student receives a scholarship from another institution(s), a document proving that scholarship
• Regarding income declaration:
– For any parent, grandparent, or siblings living in the same household who earn income, or for the student if employed, a certified salary or wage statement (for the past year). (Those who have changed jobs or started a new job must also include SGK Service Statements for the past year obtained via e-Government.)
– For any parent, grandparent, or siblings living in the same household who are self-employed as merchants, farmers, industrialists, professionals in a liberal profession, or tradespeople, a photocopy of the Income Tax Return and Tax Plate
– For any adult living in the same household who is not working, a document from the Social Security Institution or via e-Government showing that status
– If any parent, grandparent, siblings, or the student own real estate, documentation indicating the share, location, and size of the property; if there is no real estate registered in their name, a document from e-Government stating that no real estate is registered in their name
(These documents should be obtained by logging into https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/ with an e-Government password, going to the “General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre Title Deed Information Inquiry” screen, clicking “Print,” and saving as PDF. They must include the person’s name, surname, and national ID number.)
– If any parent, grandparent, siblings, or the student own motor vehicles, documentation showing the make and model; if there is no vehicle registered in their name, a document from e-Government stating that no vehicle is registered in their name
(These documents should be obtained by logging into https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/ with an e-Government password, going to the “Union of Turkish Notaries Vehicles Registered in My Name Inquiry” screen, clicking “Print,” and saving as PDF. They must include the person’s name, surname, and national ID number.)
– For any retirees living in the same household, a certified document from the Social Security Institution showing their pension payments, or a bank statement or passbook copy indicating monthly pension payments, or an “Retirement Monthly Information” document obtained via e-Government
– For any members of income-exempt professional groups living in the same household, a certified copy of the Tax Exemption Certificate obtained from the relevant tax office
– If the family home is rented, a copy of the rental contract; if it is a state-provided residence, a residence certificate; if it is their own home, a document obtained via e-Government (see item 5d); if the home does not appear in e-Government records, a Title Deed Certificate
– If the family home has an outstanding mortgage, relevant bank documents
• Documents supporting any other expenses indicated on the Preliminary Application Form (e.g., health, education, etc.)
• If bankruptcy applies, relevant documents; if there is a high level of debt, relevant documents (for bank debts, a “Turkish Banks Association Risk Center Report” obtained via e-Government)
