Personal Data Protection Disclosure Statement

The Turkey Youth and Education Services Foundation (“TÜRGEV” or “the Foundation”) values the privacy of your personal information and is committed to keeping your personal data secure.

This disclosure statement has been prepared in accordance with the Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (“the Law”) and the Communiqué on the Principles and Procedures to be Followed in Fulfilling the Obligation to Inform. It aims to inform dormitory students, prospective students, scholarship holders, scholarship candidates, donors, business/project partners, visitors, users who visit the website https://www.turgev.org/, internal solution partners/suppliers, employees and representatives of institutions and organizations in cooperation with the Foundation, as well as other third parties, regarding the collection and processing of personal data in line with the purposes of the Foundation.

Methods and Legal Grounds for Collecting Personal Data
TÜRGEV collects personal data directly from scholarship holders, scholarship candidates, dormitory students, dormitory student candidates, donors, visitors, online visitors, and internal solution partners/suppliers. It obtains data through CCTV, log records, physical and other communication channels in audio, electronic, or written form. This is done in accordance with the conditions for processing personal data stated in the Law, proportionate to the objectives outlined below, primarily for carrying out and improving the Foundation’s activities, and based on the legal grounds stated in Articles 5 and 6 of the Law.

Purposes of Processing Personal Data
TÜRGEV may process your personal data in accordance with the basic principles set out by the Law and within the conditions and purposes for processing personal data as stated in Articles 5 and 6 of the Law, for the following purposes:

  • Ensuring the necessary work is carried out by relevant departments to perform the Foundation’s activities and managing the related business processes

  • Planning and/or execution of effectiveness/efficiency and/or appropriateness analyses of the Foundation’s activities

  • Planning and/or execution of business continuity processes

  • Planning, auditing, and execution of information security processes

  • Follow-up of the Foundation’s finance and accounting processes

  • Planning and execution of the Foundation’s operational processes

  • Planning and execution of internal and external training activities

  • Management of relationships with business partners and/or suppliers

  • Follow-up of requests and/or complaints

  • Follow-up of the Foundation’s legal affairs and fulfillment of legal responsibilities

  • Planning and execution of necessary operational activities to ensure that the Foundation’s activities are conducted in accordance with its procedures and/or applicable legislation

  • Providing information to authorized institutions in compliance with legal obligations

  • Planning and execution of audit activities of the Foundation

  • Ensuring the security of the Foundation’s campuses and/or facilities

  • Ensuring the security of the Foundation’s operations

  • Securing the Foundation’s campuses and movable assets

  • Securing the Foundation’s fixtures and/or resources

  • Creating visitor records

To Whom and For What Purpose Personal Data May Be Transferred
Your collected personal data may be transferred for the purposes mentioned above, in accordance with the basic principles provided by the Law and within the conditions and purposes of personal data processing specified in Articles 8 and 9 of the Law, to our business partners, suppliers, legally authorized public institutions, and legally authorized private organizations.

Your Rights as a Data Subject under Article 11 of the Law
As the owner of personal data, you have the following rights under Article 11 of the Law:

  • To learn whether your personal data is being processed

  • To request information if your personal data has been processed

  • To learn the purpose of processing your personal data and whether it is being used in accordance with that purpose

  • To know the third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred domestically or abroad

  • To request correction of your personal data if it is incomplete or incorrectly processed

  • To request the deletion or destruction of your personal data within the framework of the conditions set forth in Article 7 of the Law

  • To request notification of the transactions made pursuant to subparagraphs (d) and (e) to third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred

  • To object to any outcome to your detriment resulting from analysis of your data exclusively through automated systems

  • To demand compensation in the event that you suffer damage due to unlawful processing of your personal data

Application for Data Subject Rights
To exercise your rights over your personal data, you may carry out the necessary changes, updates, and/or deletion procedures and submit your related requests via the “KVKK Application Form” available on the TÜRGEV Website.
