About the Scholarship

Compass Achievement Scholarship

It is a special, non-repayable merit scholarship awarded to candidates studying at high schools and equivalent secondary education institutions, or pursuing associate, undergraduate, or graduate degrees in higher education—or conducting research following their studies at these levels.

The scholarship is granted based on evaluations in key areas such as potential, motivation, initiative/experience, personal development, skills, and achievement, and is allocated in accordance with the annual scholarship quota.

Application Conditions

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA or graduation score of 53 out of 100, or 2.00 out of 4.00,

  • Be currently enrolled in high schools or equivalent secondary education institutions, or pursuing an associate, undergraduate, or graduate degree in higher education—or continuing their research following education at these levels,

  • Have achieved a notable accomplishment—whether regional, national, or international—in fields such as academia, science and technology, arts and culture (literature, music, cinema, etc.), social responsibility, sports, national or international standardized exams (including high school or university entrance exams), foreign language tests, etc. (e.g., ranking/placement, award, merit scholarship, project acceptance, academic admission, internship offer), or possess a special level of potential/skill (e.g., literary talent, advanced musical instrument proficiency, owning or conducting a promising project),

  • Successfully complete the application via TÜRGEV’s official website within the dates announced by TÜRGEV,

  • Upload the required documents listed in the TÜRGEV Scholarship Application Required Documents List, as well as any additional information and documents requested by the Compass Talent Management Center and the Scholarship Committee for a more comprehensive evaluation—on the specified date and in the requested format—accurately and completely to the application system, and provide them in print to the Foundation if requested.

Application Documents

During Compass Achievement Scholarship applications, the following documents must be submitted during the online application process:

  • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

  • Criminal Record

  • Statement of Purpose (Clearly and in detail, explain any special circumstances, conditions, duration, dates, and amounts regarding your application. The statement of purpose is a highly significant criterion in the evaluation process.)

  • If applicable, an official and verifiable student certificate (with a verification code) from your current academic program (must be issued within 10 days prior to the application date)

  • For students continuing or about to begin secondary education: a document showing results of the high school entrance examination

  • For current secondary school students: an officially approved document showing grades and the overall GPA for the most recent academic year or semester

  • For students continuing or newly admitted to higher education: university entrance exam result document (must include the name of the placed department, the score received, and a verification code)

  • For continuing higher education students: an officially approved transcript showing grades and overall GPA for the most recently completed academic year or semester

  • If applicable, documentation of Vertical Transfer Exam results and an official university document confirming admission to a bachelor’s program

  • For graduate students: an official document or acceptance letter confirming admission to a thesis-based Master’s or Doctorate program

  • For graduate students: an official university transcript showing detailed course performance

  • If available, letter(s) of recommendation from faculty members from your current or graduated program

  • For applicants accepted into international internship/research programs: official acceptance letter including program details

  • For applicants requesting an international education scholarship: the URL of the institution’s official website page showing detailed payment amounts, dates, and methods

  • For applicants requesting an international education scholarship: email correspondence from the institution’s official accounts containing payment information (amount, date, method)

  • Temporary graduation certificate or diploma from completed higher education programs

  • If applicable, certificates/documents demonstrating regional, national, or international achievements in fields such as academia, science and technology, arts and culture (literature, music, cinema, etc.), social responsibility, sports, national/international exams, foreign languages, or proof of possessing special potential/skills (e.g., literary talent, advanced musical instrument proficiency, ownership or execution of a promising project)

  • If applicable, certificates of participation or completion for additional education, events, or programs mentioned in your CV

  • If applicable, valid test result documents such as ALES, YDS, YÖKDİL, IELTS, TOEFL, TOEFL Junior, etc.

  • For athletes with national amateur status: official document from the Ministry of Youth and Sports or the General Directorate of Sports

  • If applicable, documents proving special circumstances (e.g., child of a martyr or veteran, a veteran yourself, currently or previously under state protection, both parents deceased, family bankruptcy, critical or life-threatening health condition affecting the applicant or immediate family, severe disability or condition requiring special care, forced migration due to war, natural disaster, etc.)

  • If applicable, a copy of any research papers, articles, or reviews published in national or international peer-reviewed journals

  • If applicable, a copy of any full-text or abstract papers or posters presented at national or international scientific meetings

  • For artistic achievements: documents showing exhibited, copyrighted, or published works

  • If applicable, any other documents supporting your scholarship application (e.g., special skills or achievements not listed in the above categories)

  • If applicable, any additional documents officially requested in writing by the Compass Talent Management Center

If your scholarship application is approved, you will be required to submit a wet-ink signed copy of the Scholarship Commitment Letter to be provided by the Foundation.
