The Language of Testimony: The Language of the Visual and Silent Screams

10 November 2025

TÜRGEV's "Good Works Factory" continues its educational series titled "The Language of Witnessing: Gaza and Literacy." This unique program, centering on Gaza, aims to rethink the use of tools such as information, speech, visuals, and sound with a sense of responsibility while witnessing one of the greatest humanitarian crises of our time.

The third session of the series, titled "Visual Literacy: The Language of the Visual and Silent Cries," will be held on Friday, November 15th, at the Rami Library. The guest speaker, Prof. Dr. Ali Büyükaslan, will address the relationship between "reality and representation" in the world of meaning in visuals; he will conduct an in-depth reading of the language of visuals with the participants.

This meeting, reminding us that Gaza is not just a geography but a test of conscience, invites young people to deepen their understanding both intellectually and humanely.
