TÜRGEV Academy is a second degree and specialization program where our students not only gain competencies beyond their fields of specialization but also experience various methods in academic, social, and cultural areas, while creating their own fields of personal interest and study.
In 2015, with the aim of supporting the development of students residing in TÜRGEV dormitories, TÜRGEV Academy was launched as an educational project. Initially implemented across 5 different dormitories in 4 cities (Istanbul, Konya, Ankara, Bursa) with the participation of 250 students over the course of one year, the project was later consolidated into a single center.
Our goal is to nurture young women who produce knowledge aligned with the needs of society, acquire objective knowledge from reliable sources, possess strong reasoning skills, value the concepts of justice and balance, act with a sense of responsibility, contribute to the preservation and development of our historical and cultural identity, and stand out as qualified, pioneering, and influential individuals both nationally and internationally.
The program consists of two main disciplines—Islamic Sciences and Social Sciences—and, including the preparatory period, comprises 7 stages corresponding to 7 half-terms, lasting a total of 3.5 years.
TÜRGEV Academy 1st Student Symposium
The 1st Student Symposium of the TÜRGEV Academy Program (TAP)—which has evolved into a “second university” for TÜRGEV students, enabling them to gain competencies beyond their fields of specialization through academic training—was held on Sunday, December 1, at SETA Istanbul.
Supported by expert academics, the program provides students with courses in Islamic Sciences and Social Sciences throughout the year. Students conduct research on topics of their interest and prepare their papers, all of which were presented successfully during the symposium.
Following the opening remarks delivered by Assoc. Prof. Mahmut Kelpetin, who addressed both the audience and the students on the Academy’s efforts, TÜRGEV Chairperson Dr. Fatmanur Altun spoke about the reasons behind establishing such an academy and the contributions it has made to TÜRGEV.
