Mevlanakapı Children’s Library and Workshop Center Project

Operating under the TÜRGEV Psychological Counseling Center and supported by the Istanbul Development Agency (ISTKA), the Mevlanakapı Children’s Library and Workshop Center is a comprehensive social initiative. Our primary mission is to empower children and youth aged 0–12 residing in socio-economically disadvantaged regions of Istanbul. By identifying their unique talents and providing long-term guidance, we aim to cultivate well-equipped individuals while significantly enhancing their psychological well-being.

Our Core Mission and Services

• At our center, we provide a holistic developmental environment. Our multidisciplinary approach includes:
• Psychological & Developmental Assessments: Specialized intelligence and developmental testing for participants aged 0–12.
• Educational Workshops: A diverse range of skill-based sessions for children.
• Parental Empowerment: Seminars and workshops designed to strengthen the family unit.
• Social Integration: Community-building activities and off-site excursions.
• All services provided within the scope of our project are free of charge. While excursions are held at various locations, all other core activities are conducted at our dedicated Children’s Library and Workshop Center.

Psychological Support & Parent Academy

We place a high priority on the emotional and mental health of our community through specialized clinical and educational services:

• Play Therapy: A professional, complimentary therapeutic service prioritized for children who demonstrate specific developmental or emotional needs during our activities.
• Parent Academy Seminars: A curated series of lectures designed to refine parenting techniques and foster healthy family communication.
• Parental Guidance & Consultation: Personalized appointment-based sessions where parents can consult with experts regarding specific concerns or challenges.

Comprehensive Activity Programs for Children

Our curriculum is designed to stimulate cognitive, social, and creative growth through a variety of specialized workshops:

• Creative Arts: Character Design, Painting, Collage, and Creative Drama.
• STEM & Logic: STEM-Based Design, Mind and Intelligence Games, and Scientific Experiment Workshops.
• Literacy & History: Story Creation, Living Books, and History Readings.
• Wellness & Social Development: Psycho-Social Development Games, Rhythmic Movement, and Emotion Workshops.
• Social & Leisure: Outdoor Cinemas, Children’s Theater, Cooking, and Mother-Child Activity Workshops.
