SOCIAWARE Game Software School for the Social Inclusion of Disadvantaged Youth

We provided game software training and developed games together with disadvantaged young people who are interested in game development.

Within the scope of TÜRGEV’s ERASMUS+ project titled “SOCIAWARE: Game Software School for the Social Inclusion of Disadvantaged Youth,” 40 young people aged between 18-29, who speak English and are interested in game software and production, attended 184 hours of certified online training at Bahçeşehir University.

Following the training, participants traveled to France, Germany, and Portugal, where they joined workshops on themes such as scenario and story development, technical programming, animation and cinematography, game publishing, graphic design, and modeling.

They also visited companies and institutions engaged in game software development.

The first stage of the project took place in Paris, France. Participants visited the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Paris and had the opportunity to enhance their personal skills and general knowledge at institutions such as Gaîté Lyrique Museum, Louvre Museum, and ISART Digital, Video Game & 3D FX Animation School.

The second stage took place in Frankfurt, Germany, where they visited the video game company CRYTEK, founded by three Turkish brothers, as well as Deloitte and Cisco. At the IT Fair organized by Goethe University, they received guidance on career management and learned about the latest developments in the industry.

The third stage was held in the cities of Lousada and Porto, Portugal. In Lousada, they visited the Romanesque Route Interpretation Centre; in Porto, they toured the Game Software Centre and Heritage Monuments. In Lixa Felgueiras, they experienced the “Includoteca” project and gained insights into board games.

Upon completing the Portugal phase, participants returned to Türkiye. Moving forward, they will continue collaborating to develop joint game software projects and design new initiatives.
