A New Term Begins at TÜRGEV Academy!

The TÜRGEV Academy Program (TAP) is a secondary university—an academy—designed for TÜRGEV students to gain competencies beyond their fields of specialization. It offers them academic-level education, opportunities to experience various methods in social and cultural spheres, and the chance to develop personal interests and areas of study.

WHAT IS TÜRGEV ACADEMY?

The TÜRGEV Academy Program (TAP) is like a second university—an academy—designed for TÜRGEV students to gain competencies beyond their fields of specialization. It offers academic-level education, opportunities to experience various methods in social and cultural spheres, and the chance to develop personal interests and areas of study.

HOW DOES THE TÜRGEV ACADEMY PROGRAM WORK?

The TÜRGEV Academy Program spans three years, with two terms each year—fall and spring.

Launched in the spring term of the 2016–2017 academic year, the program consists of two main modules:

  • The first three stages (Module 1) focus on Islamic Studies.

  • The next three stages (Module 2) focus on Social Sciences.

Program Features:

  • Total duration: 3 years

  • Each stage: Minimum 12 weeks and 72 hours

  • Each stage includes at least 2 courses

  • Classes are held at TÜRGEV Academy’s Sirkeci building

  • The program includes workshops, seminars, academic writing and presentation techniques, practical training, field trips, and camps

  • Students admitted to TAP are expected to attend all seminars and activities within the program

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be residing in a TÜRGEV dormitory in Istanbul

  • Must be enrolled in at least the preparatory year or first year of an undergraduate program

APPLICATION AND INTERVIEW RESULTS:
Results will be announced in November via email or SMS.

PROGRAM DATES:

  • Classes: Fall and Spring terms, minimum of 12 weeks, Saturdays 09:00–15:00

  • Registration: November 1–6, 2019

  • Interviews: November 11, 2019 (Monday)

  • Interview Results: November 16, 2019 (Saturday)

  • Orientation Meeting: November 10, 2019 (Sunday)
