The Turkey Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV) has once again demonstrated its commitment to the environment by planting a total of 16,117 saplings across Turkey over the past five years. In addition to its educational activities, the foundation continues to set an example with memorial forests that will serve as a breath for the future, never neglecting its responsibility toward nature.

Aiming to raise generations committed to national and moral values, TÜRGEV draws attention not only with its efforts to prioritize equal opportunities in education but also with its environmentally sustainable projects. Since 2020, the foundation has contributed to nature through tree-planting initiatives carried out in many provinces, particularly Istanbul, Hatay, Antalya, Izmir, and Ankara.
TÜRGEV’s environmental efforts are conducted in cooperation with Regional Forestry Directorates. Saplings are planted according to the soil characteristics of each region, ensuring the process is harmonious with nature, permanent, and closely monitored. In this way, the foundation acts with an understanding that considers not only today but also the future.
Forests reborn from ashes
TÜRGEV also took action to heal the wounds left by forest fires. In 2021, a memorial forest was established in Antalya, and in 2024, another in İzmir Yamanlar, bringing hope to burnt areas. That same year, 2,510 saplings were planted on Istanbul’s European side in memory of the July 15 martyrs, honoring the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for the nation.
One sapling, two thousand hopes in Ramadan
During Ramadan in 2024, TÜRGEV donated 1,990 saplings on behalf of its guests. These saplings laid the foundation for a new memorial forest, contributing to the environment while providing a lasting example of sharing.
A memorial forest for Cevdet Yılmaz
In 2025, a memorial forest of 2,025 saplings will be established in Ankara’s Atatürk Forest Farm in honor of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. This special donation symbolizes the transformation of an individual intention into societal benefit.
The same roots, the same purpose from Istanbul to Hatay
TÜRGEV’s environmental commitment will continue in 2025. A total of 2,292 saplings, ready for planting in Istanbul, Hatay, Antalya, İzmir, and Ankara, are set to take root in the foundation’s new memorial forests.
TÜRGEV: We owe this land
In a statement, TÜRGEV said:
“We want to leave the children of this country not only education but also a nature that will take root. We see each sapling as a hope and each forest as a memory. We owe this land. We will continue to work to leave a greener country for future generations.”
