We, as TÜRGEV, have also set up our Brotherhood Table in Antakya.
Our volunteers who traveled to the disaster zone continue to be in the earthquake-affected areas during Ramadan with the Brotherhood Tables they have established!
Operating under the coordination of AFAD, our foundation aims to bring the feeling of being a guest to the people in the region and to revive traditional Ramadan customs for children.
For this purpose, activity areas have been set up offering many traditional foods and activities for children. A significant organizational effort has been made to cheer up the faces of children most affected by the earthquake and to introduce them to the old Ramadan traditions.
Our volunteers, who play a key role in this preparation, engage with children in a variety of activities—from performing Karagöz shadow plays to telling stories, from serving Ottoman candy and sherbet to explaining the tradition of “diş kirası” (tooth rent), and much more.
TÜRGEV will continue setting up Brotherhood Tables on the other days of Ramadan. #KardeşlikSofrası
