Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz Appointed as Chairwoman of TÜRGEV Board of Directors

On Friday, May 31, the 2024 Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of TÜRGEV was held with the participation of the foundation council members. Associate Professor Dr. Fatmanur Altun, who has served as the Chairwoman since 2018, handed over her position to Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz.

In her speech, Altun reflected on the goals achieved during TÜRGEV’s institutionalization process since 2018, emphasizing that foundation work is like a relay race where each person carrying the flag strives to do so in the best possible way. She stated that TÜRGEV will continue to contribute to raising a generation that is free-minded, self-confident, inquisitive, productive, truthful, and knowledgeable about its nation, values, and history, and expressed her intention to continue serving under the TÜRGEV umbrella as a foundation council member.

As a result of the Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, Esra Albayrak, Ali Kamil Güzel, Fatih Selman, Burcu Birinci, Hakan Kekeç, ⁠Özgül Özkan Yavuz, Sultan Işık, Ömer Faruk Yeşilyurt, Murat Şeker, Feride Nur, Müberra Bingöl, and Muradiye Ateş were elected as members of the Board of Directors.

During the consultation section of the meeting, foundation council members emphasized the importance of the Palestinian cause, declaring their continued support for the Palestinian people against Israel’s unlawful attacks and acts of genocide, and pledging to advocate for this cause until a free Palestinian state is established.

With the handover ceremony held at the Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz officially assumed the position of Chairwoman of TÜRGEV’s Board of Directors.
