The Turkey Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV) has made a strong start to a new term with the appointment of Dr. Selim Gençal—known for his work in the fields of youth and education—as its General Manager.

The Turkey Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV) has taken a significant step into a new term by appointing Dr. Selim Gençal—known for his successful work in the fields of youth and education—as its new General Manager.
According to TÜRGEV’s announcement, Makbule Çabuk, who had served as General Manager since 2023, handed over the position to Dr. Selim Gençal as of August 2025. During her tenure, Çabuk played a leading role in strengthening the foundation’s institutional capacity, implementing student-focused projects, and expanding social responsibility initiatives. Under her leadership, educational programs and scholarship systems were enhanced, and thousands of young people received support in various areas. Following the handover, Makbule Çabuk continues her service as Advisor to the Chairwoman of TÜRGEV’s Board of Directors.
Who is Dr. Selim Gençal?
Born in Istanbul in 1987, Dr. Selim Gençal completed his undergraduate studies in International Management in Germany. He earned both his master’s degree and doctorate in Business Administration at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. His academic work has primarily focused on effective management in civil society and organizational behavior. Gençal has held senior management positions in both the private sector and in national and international non-governmental organizations. He has led large-scale humanitarian aid projects and has been at the forefront of project management, digital transformation, and strategic decision-making processes.
Married with three children, Dr. Selim Gençal will lead TÜRGEV’s vision for the future, with the aim of further enhancing the services the foundation provides to students and young people.
