Our Silopi Secondary Education Girls’ Dormitory Organizes Year-End Exhibition
Students from our Şırnak Silopi Secondary Education Girls’ Dormitory held a year-end exhibition showcasing various handicrafts, attracting great interest from visitors. The works displayed included paintings, filography, and products from many other branches of art, all created by students who had received training in workshops at the dormitory.
In addition to their high school education, our students receive instruction in handicrafts and other artistic fields. The year-end exhibition, held in the dormitory garden, gave them the opportunity to present their work to the public.
The event was attended by Silopi District Governor Sezer Işıktaş, TÜRGEV Chairwoman Dr. Fatmanur Altun, TÜRGEV General Manager Abdulkadir Çay, District Director of National Education Bülent Dayanan, District Public Education Center Director Osman Bilen, TÜGVA Silopi Branch President Fırat Haşimoğlu, and parents of the students.
Touring the exhibition, District Governor and Acting Mayor Sezer Işıktaş emphasized that Silopi will now be associated with such cultural events.
“Alongside their formal education, students are making productive use of their free time through cultural and handicraft activities. We hope that, with the support of the Chairwoman of the Board and the General Manager, we can bring this exhibition to Istanbul with the participation of our students,” he said.
TÜRGEV Chairwoman Dr. Fatmanur Altun, after visiting the exhibition, expressed her delight at seeing works of a quality far exceeding what might be expected at an amateur level. She noted that the students distinguished themselves not only through their intellect but also through their craftsmanship.
“It is a pleasure to see that TÜRGEV’s efforts are being met with such positive results. What you see here will continue in the years ahead, growing further. Silopi will progress even more rapidly. As TÜRGEV, we are actively working here, and it is clear that these efforts are making a real impact,” she stated.
One of the parents, Azime Uslu, shared her joy upon seeing a portrait of herself that her daughter had drawn in the art course displayed at the exhibition.
The event concluded with commemorative photographs.
