Since its establishment, our foundation has adopted as its principle the raising of young people who know their history and values, who are self-aware, inquisitive, questioning, eager to learn, productive, and open-minded, and it continues its work with the same faith and determination.
Leaving its mark on nearly a quarter century of Türkiye’s history, TÜRGEV is a great plane tree devoted to education, supporting female students through scholarships, contributing to the language and postgraduate studies abroad of well-equipped young people, and nurturing bright children who will have a voice in the Türkiye of the future through alternative education methods.
In Türkiye, efforts to shape public perception and attacks targeting the peace, unity, and future of our society have recently reached a troubling level.
Most recently, on April 16, 2019, our girls’ dormitory was subjected to an offensive attack by a group attending a political rally in the Şişli district.
We strongly condemn this attack, which targeted our children who have come from various regions of our country with the aim of developing themselves and receiving an education to serve this nation and its people and involved verbal insults and harassment.
It is evident that this was a provocation, and we declare to the public that we will pursue all legal avenues to ensure that those responsible receive the necessary punishment and that we will remain vigilant to prevent such incidents from recurring.
