SOCIAWARE: Game Software School for the Social Inclusion of Disadvantaged Youth

Under the coordination of TÜRGEV, applications are now open for the first edition of the SOCIAWARE: Game Software School for the Social Cohesion of Disadvantaged Youth.

The project will bring together non-formal education institutions with sectors from innovative and creative industries. It aims to improve the technical quality of products developed across Europe and introduced to the digital game market, balance regional differences in in-game software technology across the EU, and encourage young people’s interest in the field.

Within the scope of the project, the creative and technical skills of disadvantaged youth groups in information technologies will be developed. Groups will be brought together with experts from across the EU to gain competence and skills in the gaming sector. The project aims to contribute to the creation of qualified employment in gaming, sustainable development in information technology, and social inclusion through technology.

A total of 40 young people, aged 18–29, who speak English and are interested in game software and production, will participate in 184 hours of certified online training at Bahçeşehir University. They will also join workshops on Storyline, Storytelling and Technical Software, Animation and Cinematography, Game Publishing, Graphic Design and Modeling, as well as company and institutional visits. In addition, they will take part in events to be held in Turkey, France, Germany, and Portugal.

The project will support the employability of young people at the EU level by developing their talents.

SOCIAWARE is an Erasmus+ Project carried out under the coordination of TÜRGEV (Türkiye Gençlik ve Eğitime Hizmet Vakfı). All trainings and mobilities within the project are free of charge, and the language of instruction is English.
