TÜRGEV Summer School awarded its first graduates.
19 August 2024
The TÜRGEV Summer School took place between July 16 and August 16 at GİF Safveti Paşa. During this period, secondary school students received training on topics that would support their personal and social development. TÜRGEV provided students with artistic activities they could not experience during the academic year and organized events, under expert guidance, to help them discover their interests.
The program also aimed to teach concepts such as civil society awareness, social solidarity, and cooperation. In this context, students visited institutions like Deniz Feneri and Yeşilay, and we hosted Yeryüzü Çocukları Derneği at our campus. Activities ranged from interactive reading and psychodrama workshops to values education, as well as modern and traditional arts. Anti-bullying awareness training was given interactively, introducing students to different types of bullying and discussing defense mechanisms through practical examples.
After a month of activities, the closing ceremony was held at Rami Library. Students who successfully completed the program received their certificates from our Chairwoman of the Board, Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz.
In her opening speech, Yılmaz thanked the first students of the TÜRGEV Summer School and the colleagues who carried out the project, emphasizing its importance for the foundation with these words:
"Teaching our children the values that make us who we are, reminding them of the fundamental concepts of our culture and civilization, and guiding them on their journey of self-discovery has been an invaluable experience for us. We know that we will see today’s children as tomorrow’s youth in different projects, social activities, and volunteer work. For our foundation, there can be no greater achievement or more meaningful outcome than this."
