Lithuania Phase of the Journey of the Seed – Youth Movement in Sustainable Agriculture Erasmus+ Project Completed
With the support of the Turkish National Agency and under the coordination of TÜRGEV, the Lithuania phase of the Erasmus+ project Journey of the Seed – Youth Movement in Sustainable Agriculture has been successfully completed.
Implemented in partnership with the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry in Türkiye and Asociacija Tavo Europa in Lithuania, the project brought together 40 participants. They received training on topics such as organic and biological farming, as well as the preservation and hybridization of heirloom seeds. By comparing traditional and modern agricultural practices, participants organized group workshops to develop new applications that could be implemented in both Türkiye and Lithuania.
In the following days, participants conducted research on the connection between the European Union’s core principle of a “Green Europe” and global sustainability goals. Discussion sessions were held for all attendees to share their views. Under the theme of building a “new resource-conscious world,” participants exchanged ideas on waste reduction behaviors and recycling practices.
While in the capital city, Vilnius, participants engaged in intercultural exchanges and visited Green Tech—one of Lithuania’s largest recycling facilities—where they had the opportunity to observe the various stages of the recycling process on-site.
At the conclusion of the program, certificates were presented to participants, while the educators and facilitators who contributed to the project were honored with special gifts.
