The Opening Meeting of the “Enhance Well-being, Empower Youth” Project Held in Gaziantep

With the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, TÜRGEV continues to stand by young people affected by the earthquakes through the *“Enhance Well-being, Empower Youth”* project. This initiative is not only a form of individual support, but also part of our broader journey to strengthen social solidarity and help heal wounds through kindness.

29 May 2025

The launch meeting of our “Enhance Well-being, Empower Youth” project was held in Gaziantep on May 28 and received strong interest. At the event, TÜRGEV Chair of the Board Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, Gaziantep Deputy Mayor Feray Yılmaz, and Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Assoc. Prof. Attorney Sefa Koçoğlu addressed young people, emphasizing the significance of the project and the transformative power of kindness in society.

As our Chair of the Board, Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, highlighted:

“Every pain leaves a mark, but it heals not with time, but with solidarity. Every step taken with a heart open to kindness nourishes the spirit of youth and grows society’s hope.”

With this belief, we are here to make sure our young people know they are not alone.

Providing Not Only Shelter, but Also Security After Disasters
Immediately after the February 6 earthquakes, we opened the doors of our dormitories to nearly one thousand citizens, offering not just a roof, but a warm home. Through our Disaster Support Scholarship Program, we provided scholarships to around 400 students. Today, with our Special Support Scholarships, we continue to accompany young people affected by the earthquake throughout their educational journeys.

Our support is not only material but also moral. With psychosocial programs that address loss, grief, and post-trauma recovery, we contribute to both the individual and social healing of our youth.

Healing Through Art, Growing Stronger Through Activities
The project aims to reach 500 young people directly and 1,000 indirectly. Alongside psychosocial support groups, we meet with youth in art workshops such as marbling (ebru), woodblock printing, and acrylic painting, giving them space to express themselves.

Through cinema, theater, sports, and environmental activities, we support their integration into social life, while disaster preparedness, stress management training, and trauma-focused conferences help strengthen their resilience.

Stronger and More Hopeful Together
At TÜRGEV, we believe we are not just an institution, but a broad movement with an alert conscience, an open heart, and a sense of responsibility in every area that touches human life.

Through the “Enhance Well-being, Empower Youth” project, we continue to fulfill this responsibility with determination, working together to help heal the wounds of our young people.

Because we believe in the transformative power of kindness.

HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?
