A Spring Breeze at the Factory of Fine Works
The Factory of Fine Works (GİF), TÜRGEV’s educational campus project, welcomed the arrival of spring with the Spring Gatherings. From May 15–19, 2024, young people from Istanbul came together at GİF Safveti Paşa in Sirkeci for a series of creative and cultural events.
Participants in the Spring Gatherings had the chance to experience a selection of the training activities offered at GİF campuses throughout the year. In hands-on workshops, they created their own products in paper-making, fragrance crafting, candle-making, and chocolate-making. They also learned traditional techniques such as woodblock printing, engraving, and watercolor, while exploring innovative methods in punch embroidery and felt brooch workshops.
During Youth Week, GİF Safveti Paşa also hosted art and culture talks. Our Chairperson, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatmanur Altun, and theater director Ayşe Şahinboy Doğan engaged the audience in an interactive discussion on the importance of art, capturing the attention of the young participants.
Among the guest speakers, digital content creator Recep Tayyip Çelik delivered a talk on storytelling from a digital perspective and answered questions about popular social media trends. Playwright and actress Nurdan Albamya İnce shared her experiences and responded to questions from young participants about the world of theater.
