TÜRGEV Academy Summer Camp Concludes
The 2018 TÜRGEV Academy Summer Camp was held in two separate regions—the Black Sea and Istanbul—bringing together 65 students who had participated in TÜRGEV Academy programs during the academic year. The camp provided an opportunity for students to unwind, explore, and engage in enriching activities.
In the first session, students visited some of the most iconic natural and cultural landmarks of the Black Sea region, including Ayder Plateau, Zil Castle, Palovit Waterfall in Rize; Cable Car and Boztepe in Ordu; Uzungöl and Hagia Sophia Museum in Trabzon; Amazon Village and Amisos Hill in Samsun; and various historical and cultural sites in Giresun.
They also enjoyed outdoor activities such as ziplining, nature hikes, and tea harvesting, creating unforgettable memories in a relaxed, social atmosphere.
In the second session, students explored Istanbul’s rich history and culture, visiting the Ottoman Archives, Istanbul Archaeological Museum, Hagia Sophia, and Chora (Kariye) Museum.
A picnic in Kocaeli brought together fun and adrenaline, with activities like ziplining, ATV rides, and paintball.
Workshops added a hands-on learning element to the camp. Students:
Crafted plates and panels in the fusion workshop,
Created glass fish in the flame-shaping workshop,
Made glass swans in the glassblowing workshop,
Prepared chocolates and muffins in the chocolate-making workshop.
These sessions combined creativity, skill development, and plenty of fun.
With exciting trips, interactive workshops, and shared experiences, the 2018 TÜRGEV Academy Summer Camp ended with lasting memories, strengthened friendships, and photo albums full of special moments.
