The 5th National Student Congress, organized within the scope of Platform Studies carried out by the Türkiye Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV), was held on February 13–14, 2026. During the congress, undergraduate and graduate students shared their academic work conducted throughout the year through paper presentations.
The program was attended by many distinguished guests, including TÜRGEV Board Chair Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, TÜRGEV General Manager Dr. Selim Gençal, TÜRGEV Foundation Assembly Member Mevlüt Uysal, and Istanbul Deputy Governor Serap Özmen Çetin. Protocol members closely followed the academic outputs of young researchers and shared their evaluations regarding the process.
Platform Studies was implemented as a structured educational program conducted within TÜRGEV, aiming to support students’ discipline-based academic, professional, and intellectual development. The program sought not only to provide knowledge but also to enhance young participants’ abilities to think, produce, and express themselves.
Platform Studies was structured across ten different disciplines: Language and Literature, Religious Studies, Educational Sciences, Law and Forensic Sciences, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Architectural Sciences, Engineering and Technology, Arts, Media and Communication Studies, Social and Human Sciences, as well as Medical and Health Sciences.
Within the program, students from many universities across Türkiye took part throughout the year in academic trainings, seminars, workshops, reading and discussion programs, as well as research and academic writing processes.
Serving as the year-end academic output of Platform Studies, the National Student Congress was held as the most visible stage of this process. Students who successfully completed their training and prepared papers under the guidance of academic advisors presented their work through academic presentations at the congress.
In her opening speech, TÜRGEV Board Chair Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz emphasized that Platform Studies constitutes an important ground where young people gain interdisciplinary thinking skills and stated, “A strong future is possible with thinking and responsible youth.”
Yılmaz noted that each paper presented at the congress was the product of a carefully conducted intellectual process and expressed her belief that the shared future would be shaped by the ideas and efforts of young people.
During this term, 100 students participated in the Platform Studies program, and a total of 150 courses were conducted across all platforms. Of the 42 students who successfully completed the process, 35 finalized their papers and qualified to be included in the congress program. Following a two-stage evaluation and scheduling process, 29 paper presentations were delivered at the congress.
The paper evaluation process was carried out based on criteria such as methodological accuracy and consistency, relevance to the literature, clarity of language and expression, and compliance with ethical principles. Throughout the process, students received one-on-one academic guidance from academics from various universities.
The 5th National Student Congress of TÜRGEV Platform Studies brought together young researchers from different cities and universities across Türkiye, making a tangible contribution to the ideal of a “thinking, producing, and sharing youth.” The congress enabled young people to gain academic self-confidence, establish interdisciplinary interaction, and make their academic production visible.
