The Turkish Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV) is set to take a leading role as a key partner in the 3rd International UNESCO Symposium on Science Diplomacy and Scientific Heritage, taking place from 26–28 November 2025 in Istanbul, Türkiye.
This high-profile international event will convene scientists, academics, diplomats, and policymakers from around the globe, aiming to strengthen cross-cultural dialogue, address pressing global challenges, and advance the field of science diplomacy.
Hosted by the Alliance of Civilizations Institute at Ibn Haldun University (Türkiye), the symposium is co-organized in partnership with TÜRGEV, the Sharjah International Foundation for the History of Arab and Muslim Sciences (SIFHAMS, UAE), and the UNESCO Chair on Science Diplomacy and Scientific Heritage at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM).
This year’s theme, “Intercontinental Knowledge Circulation and Scientific Bridges: Historical Legacy and New Areas of Cooperation Between the Islamic World and Latin America,” builds on the success of the first two editions of the symposium.
The program will explore the historical and contemporary flow of knowledge between the Islamic world and Latin America, emphasizing mutual respect, human rights, and sustainable development. The event seeks to highlight how science diplomacy contributes to peace, intercultural dialogue, and long-term global partnerships.
A central focus will be the preservation of scientific heritage and the promotion of South-South cooperation as part of a shared vision for the future.
