We Came Together for the Green Homeland on National Afforestation Day

We set out to give life to the Green Homeland. Through simultaneous plantings in 81 provinces, we brought 1,111 saplings together with the soil.

12 November 2025

National Afforestation Day, declared in 2019 by our President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, was celebrated once again this year across the country with great enthusiasm. In cooperation with the General Directorate of Forestry, we entrusted 1,111 saplings to the future during a planting event held in Pendik Kurna.

Our students and volunteers from TÜRGEV dormitories joined the Green Homeland Mobilization simultaneously, bringing youthful energy to environmental awareness. Each sapling symbolized the effort of one of our students, the prayer of one of our volunteers, and a nation’s hope for the future.

This meaningful day brought together environmental responsibility and the spirit of volunteerism, transforming into a conscience based youth movement. For us, this event was not only a signature placed in the soil, but also an enduring commitment to the future.

As TÜRGEV, we continue our efforts to protect nature, promote awareness of sustainable living, and encourage young people to take part in environmentally friendly projects. Within the scope of our Memorial Forest Project, which we launched in previous years, we planted more than 20,000 saplings in areas affected by forest fires. This year as well, with the same belief, we continue to give life to the Green Homeland.

In the words of our Chair of the Board, Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz:

“To keep the Green Homeland alive is to keep the conscience of humanity alive. We want every young person who grows up on these lands not only to love nature, but also to take responsibility for it.”

With this awareness, we will continue to reach more young people every year and to give new life to nature with each sapling. We believe that as long as Türkiye stands united under the shade of a tree, our future will continue to grow greener.

HOW CAN WE HELP YOU?
