During the month of Ramadan, our foundation continued its activities in the disaster zone by setting up Brotherhood Tables in İslahiye and Nurdağı, two of the areas most heavily affected by the earthquake.
While the Hatice Hatun Girls’ Dormitory in Gaziantep continued to serve earthquake-affected citizens, volunteers from the dorm also participated in the events held in İslahiye and Nurdağı.
The program, attended by TÜRGEV General Manager Makbule Çabuk, drew particular interest from children. Motivated by the desire to help children forget the tragedy they had experienced, even for a moment, and to bring smiles to their faces, our volunteers met new people and shared unforgettable moments. The activities and treats that began for children before iftar continued afterward with the participation of adults. The Karagöz shadow play, in particular, was met with great interest from both children and parents.
The deep interest and affection shown by the local community to our volunteers led to moments filled with emotion.
Our volunteers will continue to set up Brotherhood Tables in different cities under the coordination of AFAD.
