We Held the Launch of the Mevlanakapı Children’s Library and Workshop Center.

The launch of the Mevlanakapı Children’s Library and Workshop Center, a TÜRGEV initiative aimed at increasing social interaction in the neighborhoods where its dormitories are located, has been held.

Supported by the Istanbul Development Agency and carried out in partnership with Ibn Haldun University and the Istanbul Directorate of National Education, the project was introduced to the public by our Chairperson, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Fatmanur Altun.

Speaking about the motivation behind the project, Altun said:

“With this project, which we hope will be a hopeful step for children aged 0–12 living in Istanbul and their families, we have sought to build not just a library but also a development and support center. Our aim is to provide children with every opportunity they need to discover and develop their talents and to grow up as healthy individuals.”

She also noted that the center organizes seminars, workshops, and events for parents, and emphasized that it has already served more than twice the number of individuals originally targeted. Altun expressed her gratitude to the students who contributed to the project and to its activities, highlighting the positive feedback received particularly from residents of the Mevlanakapı neighborhood.

The launch was attended by Istanbul Governor Davut Gül, along with the children who inspired the project and their parents.

The Mevlanakapı Children’s Library and Workshop Center will continue its work by providing children with thematic guidance, various intelligence and developmental assessments, workshops, informational sessions for parents, social activities, and psychological support services.
