We Welcomed Our Balıkesir Secondary Education Girls’ Dormitory in Istanbul
A group of 40 students from our Balıkesir Secondary Education Girls’ Dormitory visited Istanbul, beginning their program with a stop at our Katibe Atmaca Higher Education Girls’ Dormitory in Başakşehir.
The students met with our Chairwoman of the Board, Dr. Fatmanur Altun, over breakfast. Following the meal, they visited Ibn Haldun University, where a student who had been admitted with top honors shared insights on how to prepare for exams and offered guidance for the academic journey.
During a discussion session with the students, Dr. Fatmanur Altun responded to the question, “How can one be both a mother and successful in professional life?” by saying:
“Do not listen to those who tell you that you can’t do both. You can. And don’t pay attention to those who say you must choose one or the other—because you can achieve both.”
After the talk, the students toured the university and posed for a commemorative photo. They then visited AFAD, where they took part in informative and hands-on activities, before continuing on to explore cultural and historical landmarks such as Hagia Sophia and the Basilica Cistern.
The students expressed that the trip was highly enriching and that they greatly enjoyed their time in Istanbul.
