With the support of the Turkish National Agency and under the coordination of TÜRGEV, we successfully carried out our *“Social Innovation in Youth Work”* project in Ohrid, Macedonia, from April 10–21. Designed for youth workers and volunteers, the project aimed to raise participants’ awareness of social innovation while enhancing their knowledge and skills in the field.

As part of our training program, we organized theoretical sessions on the definition, structure, and sustainability principles of social enterprises. Participants gained both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in areas such as business plan preparation, target audience analysis, and strategic planning through hands-on workshops. These sessions aimed to equip young people with the skills needed to engage in social entrepreneurship and develop projects that generate tangible social benefits.
To complement the learning process with real-world experiences, we carried out technical visits as part of the project. At the Microbiology Institute in Ohrid, participants learned about environmental sustainability and scientific research. A seminar on the ecosystem of Lake Ohrid highlighted the importance of the region’s biodiversity. In addition, a visit to the Maarif Schools in Skopje provided an opportunity to observe a different educational model firsthand and exchange experiences with educators.
We also ensured the cultural dimension of the program was not overlooked. Cultural tours in cities such as Skopje, Tetovo, Ohrid, and Tirana, Albania, along with visits to historical sites like Saint Naum Monastery and the Bay of Bones Water Museum, allowed participants to explore the cultural heritage of the Balkan region. These experiences fostered cross-cultural interaction, enhancing international dialogue and mutual understanding among young people.
Through our project, which encourages the active participation of youth in the field of social innovation, we advanced a vision prioritizing knowledge sharing, cultural exchange, and sustainable development. We extend our sincere thanks to all stakeholders who contributed to this valuable collaboration.
