To support the development of our children and young people in a safe educational environment, we launched the “Peer Bullying Prevention and Intervention Program.” Organized by our Psychological Counseling Center, this special program took place on June 21–22, 2025, at the Factory of Fine Works (GIF) Safveti Paşa Campus in Istanbul.
Over the course of two days, we aimed to raise public awareness on combating cyberbullying and promoting kindness among peers. Together with distinguished experts—including Prof. Dr. Safa Bulut, Clinical Psychologist Onour Impram, and Clinical Psychologist Süreyya Kitapçıoğlu—we discussed effective ways to spread a culture of kindness in educational institutions and prevent bullying.
Prioritizing Psychological Safety in Education
According to UNESCO data, one in three students worldwide experiences bullying at school. In Türkiye, this rate is around 30 percent. At TÜRGEV, we believe that bullying is not only an individual problem, but also a serious issue that threatens equal opportunities in education and social cohesion. For this reason, we take solution-oriented steps with psychological safety for our children as a top priority.
Working for a Generation Raised with Peer Kindness
Commenting on the two-day Peer Bullying Prevention and Intervention Program, TÜRGEV Chair of the Board, Attorney Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, stated:
“Peer kindness is the cornerstone of raising our young people as healthy and strong individuals. It is not only a matter of personal growth, but also the key to social solidarity. At TÜRGEV, we work to ensure our young people are equipped not only with knowledge, but also with compassion, justice, and kindness. This program is a concrete step toward conscience-based education that our era demands, by encouraging peer kindness.”
As part of the event, we also launched a comprehensive awareness campaign to support the sustainability of our “Stop Bullying” project. We provided participants with age-appropriate case studies, teachers with guidance materials, and shared effective intervention methods.
