The Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education and the Türkiye Gençlik ve Eğitime Hizmet Vakfı (TÜRGEV) have launched a new educational partnership to support the academic and social development of students in Istanbul.
03 October 2025
The cooperation signed by the Provincial Director of National Education of Istanbul, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murat Mücahit Yentür, and our Chair of the Board, Hatice Akıncı Yılmaz, will cover all students enrolled in public schools across Istanbul. The programs will be implemented entirely free of charge, on a voluntary basis, and subject to parental consent.
Within the scope of this cooperation, workshops, seminars, courses, projects, and competitions will be organized to support students in developing themselves in scientific, cultural, artistic, and sports related fields. All activities will be carried out without disrupting the education process, under the coordination of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education and with content support from Türkiye Gençlik ve Eğitime Hizmet Vakfı (TÜRGEV).
The objective is not only to enhance students’ academic success but also to develop their twenty first century skills, social and emotional resilience, sense of social responsibility, and ability to build strong relationships.
Similar educational partnerships have long been implemented in Europe as well. Particularly in Scandinavian countries, public authorities and civil society organizations carry out joint projects to support the holistic development of students. This model stands out for its structure based on transparency and voluntariness.
The cooperation, which will remain valid for two years, will proceed in a fully transparent, inclusive, and auditable manner throughout the planning, implementation, and evaluation stages.
While these efforts are carried out under the coordination of the national education authorities, our foundation also considers adding value to young people’s educational journeys as one of its most important responsibilities. We will continue to contribute to raising a generation that is resilient, socially responsible, capable of building strong ties with society, and able to combine national values with universal skills.
