Within the scope of the “Aware Minds: Conscious Minds” Project supported by the Türkiye Ulusal Ajansı, young participants took part in a training and cultural exchange program in Bosnia and Herzegovina focused on combating disinformation.
14 November 2025
The Aware Minds: Conscious Minds Erasmus Plus Youth Project, carried out under the coordination of TÜRGEV with the support of the Türkiye Ulusal Ajansı, was held in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, between 1 and 10 November 2025. Shaped around the theme of combating disinformation, the project brought together young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Türkiye for an intensive educational program.
Throughout the project, Bosniak, Serbian, and Turkish participants received training on the types of disinformation, detection methods, and effective counter strategies. In workshops based on informal learning methods, young people had the opportunity to express their own ideas while also improving their English language skills.
By combining theory and practice through group work, participants translated their learning into creative production toward the end of the project by preparing short films illustrating the impacts of disinformation.
As part of the program, technical visits were organized to various institutions in order to raise participants’ awareness. In this context, young people received information about the work carried out at the following institutions:
Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Sarajevo
TİKA Sarajevo Program Coordination Office
BHRT
University of Mostar
The project was further enriched by visits to cities such as Mostar, Travnik, Jajce, and Banja Luka, allowing participants to closely experience the cultural diversity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
All participants who successfully completed the training process became entitled to receive internationally recognized Youthpass certificates at the end of the project.
As TÜRGEV, we are pleased to be part of this project, which strengthens young people’s digital literacy capacities, enhances cultural interaction, and contributes to the development of international cooperation.
