With TÜRGEV, the Tradition of Memorizing the Qur’an: A Guarantee for a Strong Turkey
The Turkey Youth and Education Service Foundation (TÜRGEV) continues its mission with great determination to preserve the tradition of memorizing the Qur’an, one of the most precious legacies of our ancient civilization and national values, and to equip our youth with knowledge, wisdom, and virtue.
In these blessed days of Ramadan, as we embrace the spiritual atmosphere of the holy month, the importance of enlightening young minds with the light of the Qur’an and strengthening the institution of memorization to carry it into the future is once again deeply felt. Our greatest goal is to raise hafiz, the guardians of the Qur’an, not only with knowledge but also with heartfelt devotion.
With this belief, since 2013, TÜRGEV has offered students enrolled in formal education the opportunity to undertake hafiz training, while also providing graduates with the chance to refresh and reinforce their knowledge.
The Ancestors’ Legacy, the Heart of Civilization
On this noble path, our aim is to raise future generations adorned with Qur’anic morals, illuminating the ummah with their knowledge, and bound with loyalty to their nation and civilization. In this regard, we not only transfer knowledge through educational seminars led by experts but also instill in them a conscious awareness of the value of memorization. Guided by our education philosophy rooted in national and spiritual values, we implement exemplary projects that carry this sacred tradition into the future.
To the Future with Unity, Faith, and Wisdom
To date, nearly 50 students have completed their memorization under TÜRGEV’s roof, marking significant milestones on this blessed journey. In addition, a special memorization project reflecting the spirit of our ancient civilization and the scholarly and wise approach of our forefathers was meticulously carried out over 75 days. This program enriched the traditional memorization education with musical recitation, meaning and translation studies.
From among 260 applicants, 50 students who successfully passed the interview process were admitted into the program. By the end, 25 of them earned a Certificate of Achievement and 13 received a Certificate of Participation. This program stands as a significant emblem of our mission to raise generations imbued with knowledge and wisdom, worthy of the “Century of Türkiye” vision.

As TÜRGEV, we continue with the utmost care our responsibility to preserve and pass on the institution of memorization, one of our nation’s most valuable heritages, to future generations. Our determination to raise young people who live by the Qur’an and who will enlighten the ummah with their morals and wisdom will remain a guarantee of the strong and blessed future of the “Century of Türkiye”.
